Measuring historical growth is only valuable if you use it to plan the future. Business owners and executives must project future revenues to allocate capital, set sales targets, plan hiring schedules, and secure financing.

A projection model applies a constant compound growth rate to current revenue to estimate future sales. The formula to project revenue for a future year is: Projected Revenue = Current Revenue * (1 + (Growth Rate / 100))^n, where 'n' is the number of future years projected. Avoiding Common Pitfalls in Growth Auditing

When auditing growth metrics, you must watch out for common pitfalls that can lead to strategic mistakes:

1. Ignoring the Baseline Scale: A 100% growth rate sounds impressive, but moving from $10,000 to $20,005 is much easier than a 25% growth rate moving from $10 Million to $12.5 Million. Always review the absolute value alongside the percentage rate.
